I came to People’s Records for a rare find, and staff here went through great lengths to help me find it. They also gave some great local recommendations for coffee and street art. The selection of 45s here is unmatched, and the digging here is truly endless, you’re sure to find gems. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in Detroit!
Stopped in here while visiting Detroit for work. The staff was friendly, the selection is top notch, and you'd be hard pressed to find better priced and higher quality vinyl. Adding more Detroit trips to my work calendar just to come back here.
This place was Awesome! I could be in here all day. Stopped in for my first visit on my birthday. So many records, all organized and the prices were great! I bought a stack of my collection. Bonus: There is a coffee shop next door, so you literally could be there all day!
Nice place to get vinyl records. Staff was great and very helpful to find what I was looking for
Always a great selection with stupidly great prices. Easily the fairest record store I've ever been to in terms of pricing! The condition of records can be a bit iffy, but nothing I've bought is unplayable and everything good about this place overshadows that. If you want to buy records, especially used ones, go here! Can't recommend it enough.
Deep catalog and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!!
Incredible selection at great prices. Loved all the history on the walls too. Wish I wasn’t just traveling through so I could have bought more records 😅 can definitely recommend this awesome spot …
Another hit! Really happy I stopped in here and to have taken my time. It's a well organized, decent sized shop with a mostly used selection. The prices were very fair... Kinda wish I had bought more. They have a large House/Techno section, a scene that Detroit is well known for. Their Jazz section was very impressive. The staff was friendly and open to a lil convo. Turns out they know Gary of Invisible City fame, who I met the previous summer while in Toronto. I haven't been to many Detroit record stores, but I'm more than comfortable saying that this would be my "go to". This one is hard to beat!
